I'm glad he's gone. I think if he can stay healthy, he will be a nice addition to Colorado's 4th line.

I feel like all the Wings signings so far minus Suter and Gagner are all AHL depth signings. I still trust in the Yzerman plan.

Renouf and Witkowski.

I hope these are guys are for GR... and not Detroit. I don't see why we need either player. We need an impact player like Nick Ritchie for the Wings.

With McIlrath leaving GR I'm wondering if they are bringing Witter back to give the Griffins some muscle / toughness... maybe on a two-way deal.

Ok. Been sick all day, stressed about mentioning Witkowski. I saw someone say it was a good signing. I just don’t see it except for GR. Thanks for expressing that. Didn’t want to look like a jerk. He’s a good guy, but whist doesn’t move the needle for me.

I'm sure many teams are interested in Nick Ritchie. Toronto, Rangers, Penguins to name a few. He's from Yzermans favorite draft year 2014. Lol. I think he could be a solid addition but dunno if he would accept a 2 year deal. What do you guys think could be a fair deal for Ritchie?

I'm pretty happy for Witkowski returning, he'll likely be GR most of the season, but the guy plays with a lot of heart and there were a couple back to back games this past season where we could have used someone like him to stick up for our teammates. For just a handful of games and a utility guy, i'd rather someone like him over an aging vet that isn't physical and barely produces anymore.

It seems like this signing is kind of 50/50 across the board and on other forums and communities as well.

With Mcilrath gone, we had to replace that grit in GR. Can't imagine it's anything more than that, unless we are plagued with injuries.

I listened to stevies interview today.. it’s just a depth signing he’ll be in gr unless there’s a lot of injuries.. Stevie did say they might be looking at another forward so it’s possible. But I’d rather see a young guy snag a job.

I'd guess between 3 to 3.25 million per season... his stats are basically identical to Pius Suter and they are the same age. They play a different position... Ritchie being a power forward LW and Suter a center. Ritchie would add some much needed depth... probably on our 2nd or 3rd line. He would also add some needed physicality / sandpaper as well. I'm guessing he could end up with a 3 year deal (2 years minimum I'm sure). It is strange as I've still not heard a single rumor as to what teams have made offers... but I'm betting he has several offers. I just hope Yzerman can snag him.

Mathieu Perreault has settled for a one-year, $950K deal with the Habs,
I would have liked him here for that contract!

The Blue Jackets have signed Werenski to a six-year, $57.5MM contract extension, $9.583M AAV, even higher than Jones’ recent deal. Not gonna get Zach! EVER!

I don't know if i'd want him locked down and committed for 6 years at 9.6 million. That's massive, and ties up a lot of cap, I wasn't expecting him to get this massive of a pay day.
